Private House

Circular House is a contemporary country house conceived around a central internal landscape of water and planting. The circular plan creates a continuous relationship between the living spaces and the internal courtyard, allowing views, natural light and movement to flow around the centre of the house. Curved glazed openings and sliding doors dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, creating a sequence of spaces that can open directly onto the central landscape. A strong concrete roof provides a contrasting horizontal element above the transparent living spaces. The project explores SINTAA’s interest in interactionism through the relationship between architecture, landscape and everyday occupation, creating a house where the central garden and water become the focus of domestic life.
