Water House is a contemporary country house designed around the relationship between architecture, water and the surrounding landscape. The project uses a strong horizontal roof plane as a defining architectural element, incorporating water into the experience of the building and creating a changing relationship between the house and its environment. Large areas of glazing connect the internal living spaces with the landscape, while the restrained architectural palette allows the natural setting to remain visually dominant. The design explores SINTAA’s interest in architecture as an interaction between people, space and nature. Water becomes more than a landscape feature: it forms part of the architectural composition, reflecting light and creating a constantly changing relationship between the house, sky and surrounding landscape.
